School Discipline (e.g The Kane)

What are your thoughts about bringing the kane back into school disciplinary action?

Some people say it should happen in a private school but not a public school.

Although, why can they not have that sort of permission in a public school? I believe it's all up to the parents, but then again, at a public school you might have the kane taken off you and whipped back lol. To be honest, in the years of schools I've been at, that would happen at both Private and Public School.

On the other hand, I don't recommend the Kane, because everyone does make mistakes. Even if it has merit, at the end of the day kids go to school to learn and not be taught discipline. I mean, that could be apart of the curriculum, but hitting is a little over board.


Just my thoughts. Though what do you think?

It's spelt 'cane,' not 'kane.' That just annoyed me. Anyway, no, it shouldn't. The cane is uber painful and we'd be going back a few steps in humanity and human rights if it was brought back.

Under no circumstances should a teacher or disciplinarian lay a finger on a student. I know if my teacher ever attempted to touch me in a harmful manner I would report them and get them fired.

I think tutors should be able to be a little more strict. When I was bullied at school the tutors turned a blind eye. However I think bringing back the cane is a step to far.

No, since teachers can't lay a finger on students, if they do you can fight back, so if they did you would get a lot of teachers being punched.

Well around here there is "the paddle" in elementary schools however they must have your parents permission first.

If they then paddle you without permission they can get sued and if the family is anything like mine someone is gonna get hurt lol.

Dude, I am around the school all day, some of those kids are disrespectable and just plain *****. But I mean, they did this before and it worked :shrug: we have it at our school and it is optional. It is a good idea IMO.
