I think so too. But please remember, I use a static HTML/CSS page, a WordPress blog and WHMCS for the billing area and have integrated the design by myself, shown the 5 latest blog posts on the homepage and don't use just 1 script.
But anyway, ScriptHostings is a great site, good luck.
J Greig most of the time voting is based on popularity of the sites in question, then how they look. Never how much work has been put into it cause that isn't always visible from a guest viewing briefly to see for which site to vote.
In time your new host will become more popular around here like Script Hostings is currently known your host will to one day if you keep up the good work.
That defeats the purpose of these forum battles then. What you said above is most of the people voting are choosing based on the popularity on the website. That shouldn't be allowed.
That basically means that any new website that has a battle with another website that's been around for longer has no chance of succeeding.
How many members on FP know or are also registered on that website and like it more then the site that challenges this website that has some FP members on it.
Second if one of both sites advertises the battle on there own place.
Saying something like: "Click here to vote for us and support our site."
Which is allowed by FP guidelines. Then you get people who vote that have 1 post and just joined FP to vote for the forum that put:
"Click here to vote for us and support our site."
Of course you'll not only get those but also FP members that don't visit the battle forum of FP till they see on a forum they happen to be a member of as well:
"Click here to vote for us and support our site."
Example:
There is not going to be one forum or website around here on FP that can win from Forum Hour because it is so known and used by FP members. 🙂
Its not a perfect battle system no but that is because perfect doesn't simply exist.
