This seems like more of a blog than a website. Especially considering the fact that it runs on WordPress

It isn't a blog. Everything WordPress isn't always a blog. YOu need to get that mentality out of your mind. It is a news and educational Website, which in terms is vastly different than a blog. IF it was strictly a blog, I would never be advertising it as a website.
