I'm sure this isn't possible, but gotta ask anyways.

When you've submitted your site to a search engine, is it possible to go back and edit your details. namely the url you used. My Google one still uses my old proboards url, and would like to update it with the new one.

can it be done, or would i just re-submit my forum info, and use the new url as a new search submission.

Doesn't hurt to at least ask.

Thanx, bud. That's what i figured. Like i said, though, i'm not afraid to ask a stupid question. -D-

I'm sure your new one will overtake the old one eventually, its just a waiting game 🙂

if that's possible, then cool. as you can see from the sites lissted on the search page, i've found some strong forums to adverrtise the new link on.

Your old domain will slowly lose authority, just focus on your new domain and it should overtake, people will more then likely click the .com choice anyway.

Also take note of the SEO.

If you don't get your old site removed (yet can still access the domain it was using) you can work with Google Webmaster Tools and get your site removed from the search engine. You just have to be able to verify the domain first. It usuaally takes 3-5 days for the link to get removed from all Google Searches 😉

I'm not sure how Yahoo or MSN do it though. You will also need a Google Account.
