Seeing the New Posts?

So for example, here on FP, when you are browsing the entire forum, you can see the latest post in each forum.

How to set that on a forum? On mine, it just shows the last person who posted there at the time it was it. Does this just have to do with the skin? or a setting I need to enable?

You can set it up yourself, depending which board you are using depends where the controls are for example on forumotion mine is
general>messages and Emails>Configuration.

I use PHPBB..and how does emailing have anything to do with this?
