I've called it "The Classifieds" although I'm not 100% happy with that category name. My intention for this section is to allow members to specifically reach out to those that are in their same country, or even immediate location and just chat with them specifically about local things like maybe recommendations on where to eat, clubs to join, etc.
It's just something new that I'm trying out just to make this "general" forum a little bit more interesting.
I like your idea, but I honestly don't see this working out (not without a very large userbase) and even then the likelihood of having enough people from similar areas to make this section active is not good.
I think you could modify and do sections for countries of members, instead of going down to state or city level. Then people from that country can talk about things happening in it but others can ask questions and learn about the country as well.
Yes great idea Sharon, and I agree with Geoffrey use countries for now and once you build up enough user-base , than you can change it but i still feel keeping country for good might be best option.
Great addition, actually. It's great to be able to talk about various countries and places in a general discussion forum. You can start the section as a sub-forum of a more popular forum/category before having its own if you are not too sure about whether the idea will take off or not.
