SeekingSocial
Quick Review by Lucky!

Analysis:

mostliked.webp Strengths:
  1. Change in Scenery
Something that I see a lot is that a lot of sites are rocking awesome themes, but most of them are of a blue variety. Now, I love the color blue, but I also like a change of pace, and that's what SeekingSocial has brought to the table. SeekingSocial brings a change to the blue color pallet and is rocking an awesome orange theme! I am liking the theme because it's different, there really aren't a lot of orange themes, given your niche. I like the mix of the different colors that flow well with the theme, with the textured background, it all just looks really well done.
  2. Mixture
Overall, the dispersion of content is nicely done. Among the forums, the amount of content within them are of a good amount and don't favor select number of forums, which is nice. Seeing as how you're still a little new, you want content in every crevice of your forums, and from what I can see, you have done just that. Doing this, as you probably know, offers members a lot of content to post in and doing so in a way that leads to an overall filled community, not just a few forums.
disliked.webp Weaknesses:
  1. Too Many Forums
Something that I was kind of disappointed to see was the amount of forums that you have made, for such little content. Something that I see too often is newer communities throwing up a lot of categories thinking this is the right thing to do when they're new. However, this is the completely wrong way to approach this. Now, am I saying you are doing the same exact thing, thinking that it's good? No. However, SeekingSocial does fall inline with this trend of making a lot of forums. Don't fret, it's an easy fix. If you want my opinion, you can get away with two categories without a problem. Have your "Site Information" category that contains the rules, the welcoming threads and maybe a suggestions board. In the second one is where you can put all of your off-top forums. How you do this is up to you, but inside the second category, you could have maybe three-four forums inside of it. Doing this, you are still offering your users the same posting environment as before, but it's a lot more tidy and looks better to guests when they see the content condensed instead of being sprawled about the place.
  2. Forum Descriptions
This is part of my things that I look for, are well developed forum descriptions. As little of a thing that they may sound, they actually play a significant role in the posting environment for your users. I see some of the forums have a nicely thought out description, but every forum should. I think of a nice description having maybe two to three sentences description what the forum is for and what kind of content is supposed to go with them. Having these kind of descriptions will make your users life's easier because they will know exactly what to post, where; which makes your moderator team happier. It's not a task that should look daunting. It should be seen as fun and a chance to let your creativeness come out!
  3. Other Things
To finish off the review, and to keep it short, I will list a few things below:
    • Make logo link to the forum index. I naturally went to click on the logo after reading a thread and it did nothing.
    • Sidebar is a little empty. Maybe place a little more content to fill up a lot of missed real estate.
    • "Time to Change" text outside of footer "<div>". It looks odd having the break after the final footer. Maybe it would look better in the black part of the footer.

Final Remarks:
Overall, I had mixed feelings of SeekingSocial. I expected a few things to be different from the norm and instead, I was brought to an average new forum with a lot of forums. You have a lot of potential, why not use it to its fullest! I wish you the best of luck with SeekingSocial and thank you for letting me review your forum!
