What are your thoughts on them? Do you enjoy doing them or do you dread them?

I've had to do them the last few years as a part of my leadership position at work, and it's been dreadful. Writing them isn't completely terrible, but I just hate doing it because I feel like I'm more self-critical of myself than what others see. I know my own weaknesses and where I need to improve upon because I'm certainly not perfect, but I hate having to write it and reflect upon it because I feel like it ends up being more negative than positive.

I've never had to do a self-review when I worked. The only time they asked me critical questions about myself was at my interview when they wanted to know my weaknesses, and I was honest with them. That's what got me the job.

I don't like them, it's very difficult for me to write about my own job performance. I know there's one thing I need to improve on at work, but other than that I am not sure what else I should say.

I resent them with a passion. Actually just had to do one a couple weeks ago, as we do a mid-year self eval and an annual one. I've never seen the value in it, whether it's writing them about myself, or reading them from my subordinates.

I've had a few self reviews over the years and I felt some of them were degrading.
