Personally I've no problem with people who sell their forums. If it's their forum, they have a right to do what they want with it, especially if they have been putting time and money into it. If the community has value the new owner is unlikely to make any drastic changes to it.

I do get a little annoyed when people start up forums for the pure purpose of selling them.
However, if you really don't have the time to maintain it, or simply lose interest, then why not?
My only concern is the members. I personally, wouldn't want to abandon them and have them suddenly get used to a new Admin. As a member of other forums, I would feel the same way in many situations. (Though thankfully enough, Fergal put a great effort into getting himself known when he bought this site.) 😉
