Not really. Either way there is no way to turn it on or off on my forum -razz-
I guess it really depends on the circumstances.
For example, if you're a site such as the Admin Zone then of course you'll want to optimize it, because it's the kind of site everyone can pop into.
On the other hand, you get those "Clan Sites" where perhaps they only want their own clan to join. Also, private forums etc wont want to be optimized on search engines.
Personally, i dont see why not. All of my past sites have been indexed and to be honest i didn't really see much difference. I see SEO as more of a "behind the scenes" promotion method, as there are far more effective ways of getting your site seen ~smile~

I used to be a bit interested in SEO although now we are top of Google and bringing in hundreds of hits i couldn't really care less about SEO -lol-
