If you're making a website for someone else do you do the SEO for it? I'm wanting to create a portfolio and allow people to request my services as it's time I got off my butt and did something useful. Just wondering if you guys SEO the websites you create for clients. 🙂

I do to a certain extent, but it really depends what they are paying of the site. I always make sure to include all the "basic" SEO items such as Meta Tags, related titles and such. The design also plays a huge part in the sites SEO as sites which have correct coding and easy to read layout for screen readers and bots are always more SEO friendly. I always include sitemaps too.

Yes, it totally depends I guess. From what I have learned, there are weekly, monthly and daily maintenance that some company offer. Of course the service fee would vary accordingly. I would suggest if you are going to offer web site building service, you should also include SEO package. I just don’t have any idea on the price range.

I’d also like to know if anyone has an idea how to gauge pricing with SEO services?

Gauge it on A. The size and workload B. what you actually think the service is worth
