We have a couple of updates here at Serene Distraction - the Creative Arts Forum Community.

The Serene Cafe where general/casual discussions can take place has been moved to the top of the forum for our regulars' convenience.

The Library is now open! This category is dedicated to topics around published books. We also have a public domain board where royalty free books are featured.

Fantastic idea, and what a great way to spread public domain books around! There are some great classics that are public domain now, so well worth getting into!

Thank you for your kind words of support! I share the sentiment! I love books, new books, but agreed there are some classics that sometimes get buried and not everyone is aware of the public domain!

I like this! I think of it liken to a book club. Book clubs, whether in person or virtual, can always go over quite well.

hmm... that's an interesting thought there. I can definitely why this would give you that impression like it's sort of a book club where people can read the same title and discuss their thoughts around it. I may consider making a more formal setting to encourage deeper conversations around specific titles maybe have specific questions and how fun would it be to actually get together with a group of people (like virtually via zoom) and go around exchanging thoughts and opinions. Of course, that would only work if there was general interest around doing that. I will have to ponder on this a bit!

I love that you've added a library to your forum. I love reading!

As far as the idea from ZandraJoi, I would have to agree. That would only work if you have enough of an interest from others to be able to do so.
