When setting the permissions correctly for Moderators on my forum, i go to ...
ACP >> Forums >> Group Forum Permissions >> Moderators >> All Forums ...
This then give me a list of all my forums with a dropdown menu for each. This page also has 2 sections (Forum Permissions) & (Moderator Permission) ... Do i set all them to "Full Access" for the Forum Permissions for "Registered User Access"?
Dennis, he is talking about moderator permissions, not registered members.
@Sean, they are two different permissions. Forum Permissions is for what kind of access you want them to have as a member, the ability to post new topics, post stickies, create polls, etc.
Moderator permissions is what level of a moderator you want to make them. Can they delete other peoples posts, change the post author, merge topics, etc. If you aren't quite sure what each level is you can click 'Advanced Permissions' and set each permission manually.
When i go to "Registered Users", their "Moderator Permissions" are set to "No Role Assigned" and their "Forum Permissions" are set to what i want, so that is fine.
So when i go to "Moderators" and look at their "Forum Permission", it says "Full Access" down them all and when i change it to view "Moderator Permissions", they all say "Standard Moderator". ... Is this correct? or Should i set them to something other than "Full Access" for their "Forum Permissions"?
It's all personal preference really. But what you have them set to now is just fine. The only thing they can't do on 'Standard Moderator' is change the post author. If you want them to be able to do that simple change the permission to a 'Full Moderator'.
Try using a custom setting for them there.
Really easy to do just go to the forum, select the mod group, and select the permissions you would like them to have.
