My site, Blametheref, are looking into a a blog - We want to be able to subdomain it, however, to blog.blametheref.net.

Is this even possible? Does anyone have any reccomendations?

Since your using ZB for your software I asume that you don't have a cPanel which makes it so you have to go through your domain provider IE: Goddaddy, namecheap etc.. and should be an option would be A LOT easier if you got a real host provider so you can have everything on one server.

We're unwilling to take the forum of Zetaboards right now, due to the fact no-one will have time to maintain it properly when we go back to college. So, we're looking at some form of blogging software where we can change the domain easily and for free?

I don't think you can do this with ZetaBoards, but if you are looking for software, i highley recommend WordPress 🙂

Like Raymond said, essentially since you can't put your blog on Zetaboards' servers you are going to need to cross into two servers using one domain.

Honestly, how you would go about doing that is beyond me. =/ Maybe contact your Domain Registrar's Support? Usually they will have a live support who will be more than happy to walk you through everything.

I know nothing, so bare with me if what I'm about to say would make no sense.

I've only made a CNAME to my ZB forum - If I was to make a CNAME using a subdomain (.blog) to my blog, would that work?

I'm not exactly sure what a CNAME is =/ **Edit** I'm now realizing your ZB doesn't have like a .com or .net thus you probably don't have a registar?

Really really don't know how to help now and I apologize.

@Wigsaw: he actually does have a .net domain (it's in his sig)

Probably you should just go to your registrar and make the subdomain blog.blametheref.net and get hosting from a different place.

I don't know if that will work, but it's the best advice I can give you 🙂

Yeah, I have to change the link in my sig. Just need to get around to it. And Wolfy, that was what I was considering, I was just wondering if it would actually work. Guess I have nothing to lose by trying. Thanks a lot for all this!
