Setting up a forum with Softaculous..

Would you higher administrators who pretty much know it all recommend setting up a forum with Softaculous? What are the disadvantages of it.

edit// Don't post if you plan too say, I never used it before when I worked with x a few months ago. I just wouldn't mind some nice neat answers laid out on the table.

I never tried it when I worked with phpBB a few months back. Traditional way was much easier for me.

No, I wouldn't recommend it.

Since Softaculous is a medium of software, it will take time to update the scripts working behind the scenes, so even if you have an updated visually, behind the scenes may be still a previous version.

When I've used advanced hosting, I've preferred Installatron over anything. It's just as easy to use. The only software I've been able to successfully install on Softcalculous, funnily enough and I don't know why, was MyBB and I think SMF I've had good luck with. Installatron's better if you just want PHPBB.

I have done forum installatinos and other script of fantastico, installatron & softaculous as well. However gong through the traditional is far more knowledge gaining 🙂

Well the reason I am asking is because I thought like everyone hated it and I wanted to know why but seems theres not a problem like that.
