I'd like to set one cause I think it could be profitable.
It can be monetized only if you have a vibrant political board. If the board is calm discussion, then you will make bank. Because of the keywords/SEO.Is it really that profitable though?
I mean since the elections before the last, it seems like political ads have really been put under the spotlight. Networks have changed their policies and many networks that monetize content won't monetize content of political stuff.
Personally, if you're in it to make money, I'd flee from anything political.
I definitely think that would be the hardest part of that journey - keeping it from not turning one-sided. If you do that successfully, you should write a book about it! 😀 Because that will be some BOSS stuff hahaYou need an even amount of "X" members, and "Y" members in order for the political forum to succeed. This way, you won't have one side that's overwhelming.
Plenty of people don't agree with everything on one side, but if you don't toe the party line, then you still get attacked by the opposition anyway. Of course, you will get attacked on your side also.Right now is NOT the right time to build a political forum. Honestly. I thought of it, a similar view as you, the problem is, there is an ideological battle going on... everywhere. Even on a wrestling forum. (I'm not going to name the website, because I am not supporting that trash.)
I am on a wrestling board that spews garbage ideas, Cam in on the same board, too. Because of the sale/merge.
So, what's happening is, people are flaming others in groups. Especially in politics. Currently, the majority of the today's "left" will osciscise ANYONE who disagree with the majority narrative.
Especially with the current subject in the media - the grooming of kids towards binary genders. Its a controversial subject, but what I'm saying is if you say ONE thing... THEY project their ideas to your brand.
Its all "Cancel Culture." A bunch of woke trash, really.
Look, my point is, right now is not the right time. If you want to be on a fair, calmly discussed political forums, find them by their keywords.
Note, I wasn't just talking about Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Conservatives, neocons, whatever. I was talking about ideology from activists. Social Justice Warriors, Woke journalists, woke teachers, woke politicians, identity politics, and propagandists. Its just a confusing world out there right now in politics.Plenty of people don't agree with everything on one side, but if you don't toe the party line, then you still get attacked by the opposition anyway. Of course, you will get attacked on your side also.
No offense taken. I still think that someone could make it work. You could even hide everything from guests and keep it to where you have to maintain non-partisanship and if you violate that, you find yourself losing access.People don't understand that and don't understand my point. Let them burn. I want people to succeed, but hey, if you aren't going to listen to my wisdom and fail...? I warned you. So don't come crying to me.
I don’t really mind a bit of a jab myself, @Jason76. If you set one up, I’d love to be global moderator or admin on it as I’m not easily offended online and find it quite entertaining personally.I'd like to think I wouldn't pick on people with different views, but I might, lol. No, I don't think I would. Just not the type. I only would get mildly physical after provoked.
I can take it and I always speak my mind and only the truth. I have moderated very melodramatic communities with some trolls, flamers and even some religious/political cults on it with at least 1 k members for 4-5 years at least.Yeah @Naiwen, but the problem is that people want to dish out, but they can't take.
Try posting on social media platforms like Facebook,Instagram and Twitter to get more people to come in..I'd like to set one cause I think it could be profitable. However, I would need people to come in, haters, likers, and neutral. Where to find these people? Also, how could such a site be monetized? Finally, my views have some strong right and left-wing points, so that might be a setback.
