Okay, so I am going to set up a professional web host. This is serious - I am going for profit and I want to make a splash on the hosting scene. Take it by storm!

I am going to get a billing system, reseller - make everything automatic. I am going to advertise it like hell.

It will be costing $25 a month, so I really need to get a lot of clients in the first month or I will be pumping more and more cash into it without a return which is risky.

I want some advice, if anybody has some.

Also, what do you think of these names?

OinkHost.com - our brand would be a little pink pig, and it would be memorable.

HawtHost.com - self-explanatory.

If you have any names for me, please suggest - but see if the domains are avaliable first. 🙂

i won't say that hawthost.com wud be good it might look like a clone of hawkhost.com

you consider forum hosting over spacehosting/webhosting. I believe forum hosting could prove more benificial.
I mean like forumotion, freeforums ...etc
Your thoughts?

Too much support with those type of hosts, I mean everyone has very simple issues such as "I can't make a member go into this group" and your there to host, not provide support 100% of the time. I personally think a webhost is much better.

@ OP, definitely OinkHost, very creative also.

I have registered OinkHost.com with an SSL and WhoisGuard. Would you believe that I thought of that first time?

I am happy that it's a hit 🙂

you can have support forum for that and the support forum can earn more than what could be earned with forums....

Well not really, no one really looks for paid forum hosts :great:

Shamz, seriously. Forum hosting is not profitable until like 1-3 years. You actually need forums that get a decent amount of traffic so that your ads make money.

You also need to pay for a server that can withstand enough traffic for your ads to make money - as well as making a profit.

I will be hiring for OinkHost.com soon, it won't be a stupid host - I guarantee. Also, I won't be hiring 13 year olds.

One of the best ideas ive hear'd someone who's wanting to run a host from FP say :great:

well what i meant was that for first couple of years the forums will be free of ads and free so that poeple can attract more and for expansives the owner can use ads on the support forum. the support forums gets the most hits than any forum of its hosting anyway so it would not cost much and when its established, it will be bigger than imagination.
I also believe webhosting is also very profitable but you need more active hands and brains in that all the time.

Nice work so far. How much will you be charging per month? I'd start with a 3.50$ basic plan, and go up as far as 10$ for your business plan.

I got a laugh from OinkPig. That name should be used. Anyhow, good luck with it.

Oink Host is a great name. It's brand. You won't forget it in a hurry. Gtfo.

Also, Raven. I will have a plan at $3 for 2gb space and unlimited bandwith. I will be taking clients right away if any of you like that plan.

Until then, I am working hard 🙂

Oink - Out!

I am sorry, but I am not going to disclose that.
I am not trying to be a fool, sorry mate - you mean no harm. But still.
