Do you often settle with one website or have 2 or more projects running simultaneously. Because i have currently one forum in my hand and i am thinking of a blog. So just want to get an insight from you all.

All I have time for is one site. I've tried running two sites before, both forums and it just got too overwhelming in the end. I never did understand how people can keep up with more than one forum, because I certainly can't! Must be a gift/blessing for people who are able to do such a thing.

If your running a forum, and have a blog alongside, that wouldn't be hard as a blog doesn't need as much attention as a forum does.

I currently own 2 forums, at times it can be difficult and unless you have plenty of time, you should only have one forum.

If you are managing a forum then its fine. If you are managing a website, I would prefer hosting a couple of more so that I can keep a rank up with either of them in search engines and work my business out.

Even if you are not an administrator/owner/founder, working on more than one or two websites/forums at once can be exhausting, although it mainly depends on the workload. I agree that running a blog is generally less time consuming compared to a forum. So working on those two together at the same time may be not so much burden compared to two forums. But still, from my experience, setting up a blog and keep it alive and useful with content and everything else is also time consuming. I ended up choosing only forum back then, and focus all my effort there.

If you have a lot of free time and skill in both area, you can definitely try both.

It is so much work taking care of one site. I do have an idea for another niche site in the future but I will have to see how things go with this one site first. It is so much work.

Out of all websites created, only a small percentage will ever be successful. By having more websites, you greatly increase your chances of striking gold. So, I think having several websites is a good idea. 🙂 Just make sure not to overwork yourself.

Thank you all for the wonderful thought on this. Will do some proper research and make myself ready so that i don't mess up with both 🙂

I've had it happen before where I've run two forums on two different subjects. Talk about confusing! An incident would happen on one forum, and I'd go to forum B to take care of the incident there, browsing through my member list to PM the member in question, and then, upon not finding the person, I'd think I already had dealt with it, and then sometime later, "Oh yeah, this guy isn't on this forum, he's on my other one!" More like a facepalm moment really. I'm never trying my luck with that again! It's really confusing trying to deal with troublemakers when you have more than one site. You think they're on one site, so you go to deal with them there, but then you go on that forum and it's, "oh wait, he's not a member here!" Kind of embarrassing as well!

I currently have two sites that I staff. Forum Promotion, and another. I don't even own or completely run the sites, but they take up so much of my time I couldn't imagine having another project or position somewhere else!

Two is enough for me! 😛

I run about 10 websites, it's a lot more interesting and varied than doing the same thing day after day 😛

Omg great to know all your experience and thoughts. Keep posting your experience 🙂

Amazing. You must've had very good time management!

I guess it is possible to have that many sites on-going at the same time if you have team members to back you up and help run most things. That will lessen your workload a lot. Still, 10 is a lot of things to worry about. XD

I generally agree with Cosmic, here. However, if you don't have a lot of time, having multiple websites might be the reason why your sites are failing in the first place. It's a little easier if some of your projects are already established, however, I'd personally rather run one project at a time.

Just like many others have said, working with one or more projects @ once is exhausting so more than often I work on one at a time.
