Sharing is encouraged for kids, but some people might oppose sharing as adults and call it socialism or communism. But nonetheless, some of those people have got nothing against private sharing and might even encourage that situation.

And of course, these days a lot of sharing goes on in tech. In fact, the internet opened up what we know of as shared technology like forum software, for instance. Is that type of sharing a good or bad thing or do you see it as something in-between?

Myself, I am opposed to Communism or socialism, but it's just an opinion. The problem, though, is if certain groups force a certain way on others. The forcing of socialism could be as tyrannical as people trying to force selfishness and materialism on people.

Encouraging children to share because they want to do so is different from taking from them (their toy, their piece of candy, their cookie, etc....) and giving to another children because the latter is what happens in socialist and communist countries.

I've heard that argument. For instance, some people encourage voluntary sharing, but see that as different from a forced situation.

Children are taught to share their stuff with their siblings and close family members. They are taught individualism when it has to do with people who are not in the close family circle. That's the reality in my society.
