Shop or no shop?

Theyve never made people go "Wow a shop, lets join" for me, but if you can get some interesting stuff in there. Then it should work.

It does not make people join, but it encourages others to post more and get to the item they want. It all depends on what you offer.

I have a forum and i have a shop. It gets people to post to get upgrades and become higher member. Id go for it and you can always delete it

You need some things which are actually good rather than the old clichés like VIP membership and a custom rank. Not sure what you should use but that's a start.

wow guys, you've really given me some things to think about. i am going to open a shop! but it will be under construction for a few days because of the things i have to do to open it. thanks or the opinions!

Having a shop is good on some sites and not on others you just got to think of whatever you can offer to you're users regarding the subject you're forum is about.

lol, on a website called SwapitShop Lounge (started off as a free forum, then had it's own domain, got reallly popular) loads of members were spamming like mad to get items.
It caused huge arguements, and loads of people couldn't decide whether or not to keep the virtual shop, and in the end, they decided to keep t, as it was the only thing that kept the website going.
I would reccomend you bought your own domain, you have hardly any members at all.

Honestly it's no use asking us if you should have a shop or not.

At the end of the day you ought to be asking your members, as they're the ones that will be in / around it. Like orc_drargoon said, having a shop won't make guests sign up. Weather you have one or not makes absolutely no difference to me, or most other people here.
