Should Administrators have the most posts? What do you think?

I don't care to be honest, as long as the Administrator moderates the forum and gets on from time to time I'm happy.

i posts more as an admin since members somehow contact me thru the forum inbox

I like admins being active in their community. It seems silly when someone's running a place without getting involved with the users.

If the admin posts loads it shows they are keeping a check on the forum but then it takes away the showing of the real statistics.

I don't think they necessarily need to be the absolute top posters, but I feel that at least one of them should be among the top posters. (Assuming there is more than one.)

I don't think admins have to have more posts than other members as long as they are active and contribute regularly.

I agree. An Administrator can at least try to post but doesn't have to try his hardest to get top poster so he doesn't embarrass himself (which I think is silly because no Administrator has the time to be on the forum 24/7).

In my opinion, I think an admin should have a reasonable amount of posts. It doesn't really matter if they have the most posts because it shows that they care about their forum. However, it would look pretty bad if all admins have the highest number of posts because then it would seem like the members aren't active. 🙂

What? What makes you think that? Administrators are supposed to keep the forum active by posting and contributing to the community, considering they've been on the forum longer than anyone else.

I like them being active and looking active but it looks silly if they have the most TBH.

I have the most posts on my forum but thats because it worked out that way
Plus I post every day at least 10 posts on my forum
I think the Admin should be in the top 10 posters on his/her forum

I think it's unavoidable unless your members become more active than you. I hope that never happens in my case, that would be sad.

Well some members have more time than the Administrators. That's impossible to avoid. The only way the Administrators can get the highest post count is making a bunch of topics.

That's usually what administrators do, though 🙂 The good ones, anyway. I've only seen a few forums with founding administrators who have much less posts than some of the other members.

I don't feel it should be some kind of implied rule that the administrator should have the most posts on the forum, but members of a community should interact with the administrator occasionally. It's sort of like the mayor elections in your town. You want to vote for a mayor you know, one you have personally met normally. The administrators lead the forum, so I feel the members who the administrators lead should have a developed friendship with the administrators. I'm not saying this requires having the most posts, but this does require some posting, some participation, and some contribution. I currently have the most posts on my forum, as I have a bit more than 15,000 posts. My co-administrator is second on the list with around 10,000 posts I believe. It may make statistics misleading to some people, but I for one still think that many posts is normally a good thing if the posts contribute. It shows dedication.

I agree, but I don't care about anybody else's post count as long as they participate in discussions like the Administrators would in this case.

As admin, I try to post not in discussions but only for moderation. I don't think the admin should have most posts.

What? That's crazy it's Administrators job to stay active to keep the forum active and participate in discussions AND do moderation. What makes you think this?

Sorry if I sounded a little harsh :/

I definitely stay active and I am open with the members, but I don't participate in a lot of discussions. I post in Graphics Help section a lot, I post in suggestions and help, I post in announcements, and tutorials. I occasionally would post in the general discussion, not much, though. Last time I owned a forum, 1/3 posts were by me which was pretty bad when I showcased it.
