Yes, I read on the X app where he was quoted as saying that he was not going to do it and at the end of the day finally proved that his son is above the law. Such a low act from him.
Plus his reasoning didn't resonate with me since his son pled guilty so some of the crimes. How does that work?
The decision seems irrational. I am looking at the parts of the law that can give trump an opportunity to change what was done when he is sworn into power.

A father would be completely useless if he has the constitutional power to pardon his son and he refuses to. What sort of father is that? Such a person doesn't deserve to be called a father.

A father that wants his son to get the idea that actions have consequences and just having the power to pardon shouldn't mean he should expect his dad to bail him out when he screws up. If someone is consistently kept from facing the consequences of bad actions then when should anyone expect said person to ever learn not to do those things that are illegal anymore?
