Should Communities Limit Controversial Topics?

Some people do, it depends on the admin and the rest of the staff. It all depends on how they want to deal with those kind of things and how they want to handle them.

I think it depends on the niche of the forum and if the admin wishes to allow the content on their forum. Not everyone wants to discuss controversial topics since it could lead to drama.

Not necessarily.

If the topic is going to cause a toxic situation, then maybe.

But, have faith in your members and let them show you if they can maturely and responsibly handle controversial topics.

I think not allowing such a topic basically informs your members that you don't trust them.
