Should I go ahead and buy this forum?

Mr.John is not the current owner. He sold the site to who owns it now.

Forumresources.org is not a great domain name, considering it's not unique, and the .com and .net are also purchased. I would not pay over $35 for that website in total. With $10 I could make a similar forum for such a price.

Make a forum from scratch. Its more rewarding running a forum that YOU created.. Watching it grow and whatnot.

Like Wober.net? I love the look and feel of your site theezy. That site shows how a website should be made.

Thanks guys for suggestion.

I closed the deal with this word "Adios!" 😉

He loled at it too 😉 freakin noob scammer

Wow, if he actually laughed at your closing thread, then yeah, probably not a dude to be trusted, that's for sure!

More like time waster, I don't see how you ever got scammed by him.

I'm going to go against the trend here a little. I honestly don't see that the seller did much wrong. He offered the site for auction, with a reserve price, the bidding didn't reach the reserve price so he closed the auction. Nothing wrong with that IMO, he is entitled to do that and lots of website sellers do the very same thing. Personally as a buyer I'm not a big fan of reserve prices and normally won't bid on an auction until I know the reserve. But sellers are entitled to use one and there is nothing unethical about it.

Plus, what the seller does with the forum after he closes the auction is his business. He is perfectly entitled to offer it for sale at a higher price or to do whatever he wants with it. Nothing unethical about that in my opinion either.

If I was in your shoes iron hide, I would also be disappointed and a little angry, so I can understand how you feel. But honestly I don't feel that the seller in question fully deserves the level of criticism he received in this topic. Please do correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe I've missed something? Apologies if I have!

I know, but the thing that pissed me off was that one, he closed the auction before expiration and two, he lied to me that the site has been sold. He knew that I am interested in this site, he tricked me so he can increase the price. He first told me that site has been sold through another site. Then I replied, to give the the URL and I will give you lil more than what you are getting in other site. Then he refused, and said "no actually I sold it to my friend through MSN, and I sold it for $80. Can you pay $80?" lol.

Also, when his auction was in session, I sent him an e-mail, asking that I am very intersted and can give you desired price for it. And next day, he closes the bidding without even informing me.

You can clearly see here that he is lying. After some time when we argued and started to make some progress towards deal and we settled at $65. I told him that I will give you $30 when you push the domain, and another $35 which you give me all files and database. And he refuses again, and says I want payment first. Well, after that horrible experience and seeing him lying all the time, I got suspicious and finally said "ADIOS!". 😉

Well if you have a strong knowledge about forums then sure. Find a reasonable price and hope you have a successful buy.
