By participating? That's kind of pushing the protest onto the students. I'd be furious if a teacher did that with my child. Plus protests can start off peaceful and turn violent very quickly. When I was a teenager in art school, some friends wanted me to go to a pro-life protest (but I didn't want to leave school) and later they came running back because there was a disturbance and the police were arresting people. That's not something I'd want students to be introduced to.
At the schools here and where I’ve lived previously - students are basically held in the building while in school due to safety reasons. The school and admins are liable for anything that happens to the students during class hours. They shouldn’t be allowed to walk out when ever they decide.
If they want to protest or hold signs before or after school, that should obviously be okay.
In the wrong ways, I hate. I mean, I do agree that they should do what they want, not in school hours, though. But that being said, it's a very wocky times and what they learn or hear in there collage and university are worng
I used to protest so much as a student. And I think that students need to be allowed to protest. Allowing them to do that would teach them activism and responsibility as they grow up.
