Should the US Government have released the photos of Osama?

Well the US Government has said they wont be releasing the photos of Osama Bin Laden's dead body. Do you think that was a wrong move as it now brings room for Conspiracy Theories and other controversy?

I personally think President Obama did the right move by not releasing the photos. It would have been pretty low of the government to make photos like that available to the public for veiwing. And the photos are not pretty either as it shows massive head wounds above osama's left eye.

The people who doubt will always doubt even if the photos were released. If it was released then the people would've just said its doctored and what not.. so there really is no point. But thats my opnion.

Even if they did, people still wont believe it. They could say its not him or they've been photoshopped or whatever..
I dont know how they could go about actually PROVING they killed him without the doubters doubting it.

Yea I agree, there will always be doubters. They did the right thing by not releasing it as some people still wouldn't believe and also it would make the government look low for releasing images like that.

Even if they released them, people would still manage to doubt the legitimacy of them. It's just like when Obama released images of his birth certificate, people still don't want to believe he was born in America.

Overall, I think it's better that we don't see the pictures. Who wants to see a dead man anyways?

Look at history and you'll see it's a rare occurancefor the US government to be against 'low' and 'public' acts.

They should have released them, and it's adding more suspicion that they haven't.

Releasing the images will only serve to make Osama a martyr in the eyes of those who follow him, that's why Obama won't release them not for any other reason.

He always had dedicated followers so they will never believe he is dead no matter how many pictures they release,

All that will do if they were to release the pictures was fuel the fire of anger and in my honest opinion it would just make his followers more angry and want to punish the rest of the world with even more terrorism

There is probably some reason the government doesn't want us to see those pictures. They probably murdered him in the most brutal way possible.

It's possible for sure.
But the fact they slaughtered him, without trial is enough.

Yea they killed him unfairly, but isn't that what happened to the people on 9/11?

Saddam Hussein's dead body was shown to the public. Did anyone do mass conspiracy theories on him? Nah.

Yeah it was leaked. If it was up to the good ol' usa we wouldn't see what the people 'we' elected to lead helped do with tax dollars.

IMO, think about the govt as your kid who you're paying for college. When they start failing a few classes and won't show you their report cards you should either force them or quit funding them. Now just change that to the govt and the money to taxes.

No the photos should not be shown as they will be bloody and I don`t think it would make people believe that it is him or not by showing it

They could retrieve his body and put it in a museum. Since these people say he isn't a "Real" Muslim, he doesn't really need burial. Besides, they only bury at sea when they're sailors who die on a sinking ship. But that wouldn't be politically correct, I guess...

Kaiser you touch a lot of bases in you're original post. My only thought is did the Government have the right to not show the picture's?
