Showing the Group Legend offputting?

When you view a forum as a guest or a member and see the group legend..ie..

Administrator - Global Moderator - Member - Validating etc

Does that have any impact on whether you would join a site if you are a guest or if you are already a member that shows a group legend, does it put you off in any way?

Is it better not to show it at all?

For me, not really. Legends are made to give us information of who are responsible for the site management, and to make it easier for us should we ever need help regarding anything. I can't imagine how it would irritate or put people off since I don't think it's bad, but it might be different for others.

I prefer having a legend there, it's nice for members to see who is who.

I prefer having it there, like Flux said, I like to know what people do on the forum. If there is a group I don't think users should see, I just won't show it on the legend.
