I recently celebrated my 6th year of being on Forum Promotion, and as such I have decided to put my signature up for bids!

So here is how it works:

I currently have no 125x125 ad spaces that have been bought, so I am bidding off one of the spots. The highest bidder by the end, gets a 125x125 spot permanently for the next 4 years, and can change the url and image as many times as he or she wants. 🙂

Spot: 125x125 in signature
Length of Running: 4 Years (1,760 days)

Bidding Information:
Payment: Payment is in FP. If you want to bid real cash, the thread offering that is at viewtopic.php?f=117&t=135830
Starting Minimum FP Bid: 250 FP
Minimum Bidding Increments: 50 FP
Reserve: 7,500 FP
Bidding End Time and Date: January 31st, at 9 PM U.S. Mountain Standard Time.

As a reference for those who do not know, the Reserve is the absolute minimum I am willing to go with a bid for the spot, so the person who bid the most above that by the end date, gets the spot. 🙂

Re: Signature Space Bid War

Common people, I am more than willing to give away the space, but I would like to have atleast 1 of the 125x125 ads taken by a bid from someone, that can use a sig spot other than their own for 4 years. 🙂

Re: Signature Space Bid War

Thanks for the initial bid! But because the reserve bid needs to be met before anyone wins it, and that I will only tell what it is to people who are interested, or if the bid goes past it, I have extended the bidding end date from the 20th (which was 3 days from now), to the 30th, to allow for an actual bid war. 🙂

Re: Signature Space Bid War

Bid: 500 FP$

Re: Signature Space Bid War

If I win, can I put a picture of my face there for 4 years?

Don't know why one would want to put an image of oneself in an another person's signature, but theoretically if one wanted to, it would have to fit the size requirements. 🙂

Highest bid so far. 🙂

Re: Signature Space Bid War

Thank you Cameron, Grimalkin, Kino, Sharon and Hugop for the bids so far! Keep them coming in! The reserve hasn't been made yet!

Re: Signature Space Bid War

I know I'm milking it, but there is a reason why I have a reserve! It is to make sure I get atleast a bit of value from selling it off for it's length, than what I would want to sell it for officially. So get your bids in! 🙂

Re: Signature Space Bid War

Since no one PMed me about the reserve amount that wasn't reached, and that no one has continued to bid to even get close to my reserve amount, I have updated my opening post to the thread with the reserve amount that is needed for a minimum qualifying bid to get this before the end date, and I also added a Buy It Now price that ends this bidding once the buy it now is claimed.

Just wondering, does it mean that I won't get it because I haven't met the reverse amount?

Re: Signature Space Bid War

The reserve amount was always there, I just decided to finally show it, since no one even PMed me about it. So yes, you won't get it, unless you either get the reserve amount and bid that, or someone else does.

Why do you make a min bid and resersve amount at the same time, especially when the min bid is far away from the reserve amount?

Do you understand the idea behind a minimum bid increment, minimum starting bid, and a reserve? The minimum bid increment is the least amount someone can bid for something, regardless of the amount people want to bid. A minimum starting bid, is the amount that the bidding process starts at. A reserve is the minimum amount that a auction will need, in order for it to end, and still give something value.

Plus you are confusing the terms minimum bid, and reserve bid.

I know but why don't you just make the minimum starting bid the same as the reserve amount? As you see, many made a bid for nothing.
