Re: Signature Space Bid War
It doesn't matter whether or not I decided to make the starting bid lower than my reserve. Most auctions start off that way anyways, when there is infact a reserve. Auctions never start out at the reserve if there is a reserve, because it would be pointless, and most people wouldn't even consider bidding at the reserve, if I just left it at the reserve for the starting bid.
Now either continue bidding, with the knowledge of the reserve amount now, or leave the thread. Simple.
Hugop said:I know but why don't you just make the minimum starting bid the same as the reserve amount? As you see, many made a bid for nothing.JF said:Hugop said:Why do you make a min bid and resersve amount at the same time, especially when the min bid is far away from the reserve amount? :shrug:JF said:The reserve amount was always there, I just decided to finally show it, since no one even PMed me about it. So yes, you won't get it, unless you either get the reserve amount and bid that, or someone else does.
Do you understand the idea behind a minimum bid increment, minimum starting bid, and a reserve? The minimum bid increment is the least amount someone can bid for something, regardless of the amount people want to bid. A minimum starting bid, is the amount that the bidding process starts at. A reserve is the minimum amount that a auction will need, in order for it to end, and still give something value.
Plus you are confusing the terms minimum bid, and reserve bid.
