Simple forum x customized forum

What do you think better?
Beauty is important, attracts, but I think the key is to have a forum with quality content above all.

In the past I have customized both my phpBB forum that when put in the air finally, the server could not cope because they are many mods and styles, all to make it more attractive.

You have to be able to balance it. Of course certain MODs will make your users' experience better, but slowing down your server isn't worth it. No matter how easy the forum is to use, no one will use it if it takes all day to load.

I agree. I paid dearly for my leave as custom forum, lasted a very short time.

PhpBB improved increasingly, so only some extensions are required because the colors will have the charm precision.

I think some forums work well being customized and others are okay with being simple. Not every forum wants a bunch of plugins, custom theme, etc-but some do and that's okay too. I have been on forums with just the defaults installed and they've been great.
