Simple text logos vs flashy

So, in your opinion, do you prefer simple text logos or the flashy kind? By flashy I mean gradients... Shiney, graphic induced, etc....

I like a mix of both. Sometimes simple text can be too boring and flashy could be over the top. A mix is usually nice.

I prefer simple logos, because they're not too much 'in your face' and are to the point. Flashy ones could be distracting and effect the site/forum it's displayed on.

I prefer simple logos myself yet creative. One of the best logos in my opinion would have to be Amazon.com's.

It is so simple yet it states "We have everything from A-Z" lol ...at least that's my take on it.

The best logos usually aren't visually complicated, because they need to be placed on a very large variety of media. The amazon logo looks good either on a website, or impressed into the back of one of their devices.

I hate gradients. I think they look tacky and just plain horrible. 😛 I prefer simple and flat logos, they are easier, modern, and they tend to look better. :lol:
