Simple ways to determine a fake news site

Fake news is spreading widely everywhere. A lot of people become misinformed because of its misleading information. What are the common things a fake news contains?

• Wrong spelling and grammar.
• A lot of sentences are written in all caps, especially when subjective opinions are expressed.
• The article contains inappropriate punctuation marks such as too much exclamations.
• The article contains subjective hate and attacks on someone.
• The article is written informally. Remember, news are always in a formal writing.
• Credible and reputable news sites are not reporting such article.
• The article contains too much exaggerations that are obviously not based on facts and usually provokes strong emotions.
• The site does not have a "Contact Us" page.

If you see sites that contain such articles, then it's definitely a fake news site. Don't be fooled by misleading information. Be very keen on the information you feed yourself. Stick to credible and reputable sources to stay informed.

I am annoyed by fake news that I see in Facebook. A few weeks back, Dwane Johnson was reported dead according to a shared link. It was from a fake website. I wonder why they have to post a fake news.

You can fact check multiple articles against Snoops, if multiple articles turn out to be false information you'll know it's probably a fake news website. Beyond that excessive advertising.

Your points are kind of mute, I've seen huge publications Daily Mail, Metro etc who are littered with spelling and grammar mistakes, yet they are considered main stream 'accurate news'.

To me fake news doesn't exist, outside of websites like 'the onion' and a few joke websites like that, there's no such thing as fake news. People usually click on really quick whether an article is opinion based or not, I have a blog where I post my opinions on world issues, breaking news etc and often get called fake news for expressing an opinion that I never state is fact.

Too many sheeple around I think.

Information that is proveably factually incorrect is fake news. It's possible to prove that a news source is making fake news.

I get what you're saying, I do and you're not wrong.

It's just sometimes truth isn't always black and white. Take the recent Las Vegas shooting, what's the truth there? What we'vee been told by the government to believe?

Saying people didn't die / wasn't shot to death that day 100% yea that's wrong and fake news so I'd agree in that respect, but questioning the version of events we've been told to believe wouldn't be fake news and that's something I'm seeing a lot of these days, people increasingly telling others that their opinions are fake news just because they don't go with the status quo.

My experience for checking fake news is that using google to search for that news. In many cases, this helps alot.
