Hello FP!

In order to create a more fair and consistent battle environment, we are making the following additions to our guidelines. Please take a look and message myself or any admin if you have any questions!

Additions:
  • Owners, staff and members of sites engaging in battles may not offer free services, forum currency, real currency, or any other "bribe" to their community members in lieu of having them vote in a Site Battle here on FP.
  • In order to be eligible to vote in Forum Promotion Site Battles, you must have a minimum post count and be actively posting throughout the community. In order to prevent abuse and maintain fairness, FP will not be disclosing the specific post count and activity requirement.
Sites may advertise and post about their participating in a site battle, however, may not bribe or otherwise convince members to vote on FP in order to receive a reward of any kind, including donations or bribing through FP$ currency.

Sites who are found to have violated any of these policies will no longer be eligible to participate in Forum Promotion's site battles or our annual Site Battle Madness and will be removed from our Site Battle leaderboard.

With this in mind, let the site battles begin! We're officially reopening our site battles and our team will be looking forward to setting up battles.

Are we still allowed to ask our members to vote for a specific website without any kind of incentive being provided?

Yes, that is allowed.
That should be made clear in the guidelines, with the updated guidance to avoid further confusion. However, in saying this, I like the new addition and kudos to the team for implementing the rules to ensure it's fair for everybody.

It is in the guidelines.

“You may ask members from your site to vote for you in a battle. However, you may not create multiple accounts in order to vote for yourself. Anyone found doing so will be banned from participating in Site Battles indefinitely.”

The main guidelines post will be updated accordingly with the new rules, but it’s obvious what they are from the re opening post.

Thank you for clearing this up.

Can you please explain in detail what exactly is "site battles"
