So i'm in the process of moving from Hawkhost to Site5 because I was recommended it. However, I put in a migration request almost immediately after signing up on the 9th, it's been nearly 48 hours and I've yet to see a single file from my old server to this new one. It took them until 8am this morning to even answer my ticket. I'd like to think I just signed up at a bad time or something but this honestly doesn't make Site5 look good at all. I'm really thinking of just staying with Hawkhost... does anybody else here use Site5? Are they usually like this in terms of support and assistance? Or is it just a bad day for them or something?

Well, they are offering to move your site for FREE so if they have a lot of requests like this then there must be a list and yours was probably farther down.

If their sales pitch is any good than I believe you have made a good decision.

After waiting roughly 48 hours, I decided to cancel. Once i sent in my cancel request they jumped at my ticket after I had contacted them 3 times prior to see the progress of it. I read reviews and they weren't good. So I think the right decision was me cancelling their hosting and not moving to them.

Also, I don't wanna hear that "Moving your site for free" junk. Every host does it, and usually in a timely manner. I moved from Hostgator to HawkHost nearly 2 years ago and I had all my stuff moved over and on their servers 30 minutes after signing up.

Depending on how much data you have, it might have been easier and quicker to move the data yourself although I think you were wise to cancel. If they take that long helping out a new customer, imagine how long it will take to help you out when you have been there for a few months and past the money back period of 45 days in the case of Site5.

One great thing about HawkHost is that you do get replies really fast and simple issues do get resolved pretty fast also.
