Hello,

I woke up today and noticed that my blog is slower than usual. Tested it on several websites and the results varied from 6s to 10s loading time. I wrote a message to my host and they say the problem is at my website. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea where the problem is. Could you help me out guys?

It certainly does load slowly. Are you using a lot of plugins on your site, if so which ones? Also, you have a lot of images on your blog, are you compressing the images before uploading them?

Hello Tindris,

Yes, I use a lot of plugins (13). I am not sure, if the problem is there because I haven't installed any plugin in the past few hours (when the problems started to appear). And yes, I compress all images with a plugin.

CPU Usage 0 / 100 %
Disk Space Usage 93.94 / 3000 MB
Monthly Bandwidth Transfer 382.36 / 45000 MB
Server Load 18.69 (32 cpus)

In HawkHost's response, they claim that my CPU usage is 100%.
I am checking, if the problem is in my plugins now but I doubt it.

Disable all plugins and see if it is better. If it is then it is a plugin issue, if not then you know the problem lies elsewhere. Also, does your site hit 100% CPU constantly over the past hour or so or just once or twice? HH has in the past said our issue here with speed was due to us hitting 100% CPU when according to cpanel, our CPU hadn't reached 100% for hours.

Your site isn't that slow for me even on my tablet.

I haven't seen it hit 100%. They say so... It all came out of a sudden. I have absolutely no idea what might be causing it. It's not problem with the plugins for sure.

This is what HawkHost told me, I was getting the same things with Geeks Hut. My suggestion is move hosts, HawkHost seems to fail with blogs because the CPU is always maxing out with them.

Which host would you suggest me to use, if I decide to move, ZINC?

P.S. The following plugins seem to consume a lot of resources:

Jetpack
Add link to Facebook

I disabled them but have to replace "Add link to Facebook" with a plugin with the same function. So which one should I use?

I'm using Empirehosting and I've never seen the CPU over 0 and it's much faster than HawkHost.

Things are a little bit better now. 2.46 loading speed. Looks like Jetpack and Add link to facebook were causing the problems. Thank you for all your suggestions!

Could you suggest me a plugin that can replace Add link to facebook?

It's not the hosting, it's WordPress. Try W3 Total Cache. Increased my blog's performance dramatically back when I was using WP.

I have that plugin but not quite sure how to setup it. :/

The loading speed now is much better, don't you think guys?

How you tried optimizing you databases? Not too sure if that will help but its worth a try!

Hello,

What do you mean by "optimizing my databases"?

Harutyun.

I used to use a plugin called WP-Optimize where it gets rid of the mostly unneeded stuff like spam comments and stuff like that. Used to help a bit for me at that time not too sure on how will it affect it now as its been a long time since I last used wordpress.

You shouldn't need to do that ^ but you can if you'd like. That won't help with speed, it will decrease the size of the DB though.

I am considering moving my blog to hostgator as I heard they are one of the best. What are your thoughts guys?
