So I cleaned up the design of the website to get rid of borders and changed the font. So what do you think of the new design? Any thoughts? Opinions?

I like the design! Two points though:
1) The design takes an extended period of time to load (at least for me), and I see why. It's very "heavy" so to speak. This isn't bad in essence, but some old computers may not be able to run it efficiently.
2) The username effects are very distracting, especially the sparkles. In my opinion, they take away from the professionalism of the site and cause distractions from the main content. You can sometimes use glows and be alright, but I would stay away from effects like sparkles and flashes.
Other than that, it looks great! I registered recently, so I'll check it out when I get time! 🙂
