SMF 1.1.8 Released

I think a bigger announcement would be 2.0 RC 1 was released, but I would highly suggest everybody using 1.1.7 (or below) to upgrade to 1.1.8, especially if your packages aren't installing right.
 
The phpBB issue as down to a third party script. It is nothing to do with the forum software.
 
This vulnerability was corrected about 2 days after it was found, even so I haven't seen one person who's forum was hacked through this vulnerability.
 
It is another forum software, but is the best IMHO.
2.0 will clearly be the best once it gets out of RC stage.
 
Awesome, I converted my forums over to SMF on a test board just for fun once. 😛

I would really recommend upgrading to 1.1.8 as 1.1.2 is well out of date and there is probably some security fixes between 1.1.2 and 1.1.8 and even if there isn't it is always a good habit to keep up to date.

Tons of security fixes, and some feature updates.
Not the oldest I have seen, I have a live and active board running 1.1 RC2 -lol-
 
Even more reason to upgrade as there has been hell of alot of security fixes.
