"Smile you’re on camera”

Anybody “Smile” when security camera says “Smile you’re on camera”?
I don't lol But was curious if others do. I’ve seen people wave at them before but have never noticed if they actually took the time to stop & Smile. 🙂

Don't ever look at cameras, lol, I hate that other people have to look at me, I don't want to see me.

I used to always see this sticker wherever there was a security camera when I was younger and I always used to be creeped out about it. I don't often see it as much now as I used to when I was younger but if I did, I definitely wouldn't smile, would seem a little weird to smile at a security camera.

I think things like that are there to deter people who are wanting to commit a crime, personally, I think that is too friendly of a way to deter them.

No. Not really because I don't steal from people. I know a lady that owns a Pawn Shop in my home town that will take screen shots of the surveillance footage after the person is caught and put them around her shop with their name on it. She charges them a steep price to take down their picture because people see that and then the thief is subjected to cancel culture over what they did.

That's actually a smart thing to do, it'll definitely give the thief something to think about. Anyways there's a sign that says "Smile, you're on camera" with a picture of a smiley face outside one of the buildings at my work. The first time I seen it, I got a chuckle out of it. Now I see it every morning when I go to work, so I just ignore it.

I usually just feel bad the person who has to review the tapes just to see me at 7-Eleven at 11 AM in a dirty t-shirt and sweat pants buying candy and a Big Gulp with coins.
