What do you do with users that constantly use sms talk, or leetspeak? Warning? PM?

Another thing, I have an active user (quite valuable), but she constantly uses sms talk. I have told her to stop a few times, but I don't really want her to feel that I want her to leave. Comments on how to resolve this?

I heard something quite clever on here before, put a word filter on for those words and put the correct words in.

Such as yh = yeah.

that sounds like a lot of work, especially since yeah, there's so many different ways to type it. plus there's a huge chance of false positives. for example,

"hey do u go 2 da u of c?" = "hey do you go to the you of see?"

doesn't make much sense once it's filtered.

I'm only doing it for unique words, and also its such time-wasting. Anyway, does anyone know how to respond to those members?

Unbreakable, that's genius! I just may do that on our board.

May not always solve it but sure helps with at least a couple "words"!

We censor words whether they are within other words or standalone, though, so we'd have to be careful that whatever we add isn't a part of other words as well.
