Snake in the pool!

The tortoise thread reminded me that we found this lil feller in our retaining pool a few days ago!

We thought at first that he might be a coral snake, but after some internet research we concluded that he was a harmless long nose snake. So I fished him out with a pitchfork and set him on his way.

It's the desert. There's snakes here. What can I say? We share their land, they share our pool. 🙂

It wasn't really too scary, although my wife was freaking out the whole time. Snakes can only strike about half their body length and this guy was less than 3' long.
