Saturday Night Live?

As with music, it hasn't been the same since the late 90s. Anyway, the reason could be the same; the actors aren't under enough pressure to do a good job - or maybe the owner isn't under enough pressure to hire good actors.

OK, who likes the show or has a "so so" or negative opinion? OK, another reason it's bad could be the writing is bad (written by cast, not professional writers) - as noted on one link I looked at.

It's an american show based. I seen some but they are old and I think I rather watch the old days then the new. Like anything else things become rubbish at times. But I don't think it's terrible

I have only seen clips from the recent shows and they're not funny. Back in the late 70s I was in elementary school and 2 of my friends would stay up to watch the show (I wasn't allowed to stay up that late) and would tell me all the scenes almost by heart. It seemed funny hearing it from 9 and 10 year olds 😀

Those cast members that write started off as writers. They were lucky enough to get in front of the camera too though. I'll admit, it got worse with time but it's still funny. Their latest R. Kelly sketch was hilarious.

We don't get that show here so trying to watch episodes can be a nightmare especially with crappy internet at times 😛
But I do love some of the clips I've seen on Youtube. Especially the clips with Gilly (Played by Kristen Wiig).

Certain groups are going to flat out "not find it funny" due to politics. That would be the right wing in the US. Nonetheless, I'm more in the center and I still find a lot of the show to be dull.

Anyway, in the 90s, the show didn't seem so politically biased - but then again, I think the nation (the US) is way more divided now.

It's not as funny as it used to be, but every once in a while they hit a home run. This skit killed me:

Possibly they should get "more mean" - not just at Trump. Take on the cultural right - hardcore.

But that's not saying I totally disagree with the CR - only that in "this business" you have to be harsh!

SNL has literally made fun of every president since their creation. Trump is just a sensitive guy who can't stand it when he's made fun of.

I think they should be "more mean" - either at the cultural right - or maybe like South Park - the CR and CL. Well, Mad Magazine is still pretty funny, though, kind of biased. Their attacks are more at the cultural right - but they are way more viscous than on SNL.
