Do you snore?

Do others in your house snore? Does it bother you?

I have sleep apnea and yeah, I snore. I have to use a CPAP at night when sleeping or napping. Mine is moderate obstructive sleep apnea.

lol I was just diagnosed. A few days ago they had me fitted for a CPAP to send their findings off to a company that will sell me one. I'm irate that I have this disorder.

I'm not even sure I want to throw money at one. I barely slept with the one they had on me at the sleep study. Wearing an oxygen mask to bed sucks. It limits movement & is uncomfortable. I'm not sure I want to do it.

I asked questions about the surgery options and all I got back was that those surgeries aren't always effective and a ton of bad opinions. I thought maybe getting a tonsillectomy and my nasal glands snipped out as a quick fix. But they said that doesn't always work.

I know my step father had a tonsillectomy and had a surgery done on his nose to help stop it. Nothing has worked. He's diagnosed with sleep apnea and he's not on a machine.

Should I take my chances and just not use anything and hope I don't suffer a heart attack or some other issue down the road caused by this disorder?

No idea if I do or not, I mean when you are asleep you can't tell if you are snoring or farting. I know that my nan does snore in her sleep and I can her from 5kms away

I don't snore but I have catathrenia which is annoying to my husband. It's where a person moans and groans in sleep and I've noticed that it happens when I'm extra tired and during a dream where there is talking going on.

Ever since I face planted the road my nasal airways are very restricted and I've been told I do occasionally snore although I've never been aware of it. I think of it as payback

No. I'd not take any chances. I have a full face mask and am able to turn on my side at night and on my back. Untreated sleep apnea can cause a bunch of health issues. I'll admit I didn't use mine much at all until recently. I got better and use it every night when sleeping at night. I don't wake with morning headaches, wake super tired, etc. Again, you do you. I just rather not die in my sleep or risk having a stroke or heart attack.

Ive been told by my partner if i am in a deep sleep i either breath heavy or snore,

Okay. I guess I'll try to get one and go from there.

It's gonna likely take time to get adjusted and used to it, but know I fall asleep with no issues anymore.

That helps. I think I'll put some effort into getting one. I called the sleep lab today and they said I'd have to wait up to 2 weeks to get one. I just went and saw them on Wednesday night for testing.

But I hated doing the sleep test at the clinic. Mine was like a bedroom/hotel setup, but still awkward knowing someone is watching you sleep. I did fall asleep, but unsure how good. I think maybe a few days to a week later I got the phone call saying I had sleep apnea.

I waited 14 years to get looked at. Everyone was telling me that I was having issues breathing in my sleep. That I was snoring & rattling. Everyone that's witnessed it said that it could kill me and urged me to get help.

My husband snores but it's not that loud. It's like little baby snores.

My partner snores pretty loudly sometimes but over the years I've gotten used to it. I can still fall asleep when I hear it. I hear I snore too but not too loud.
