Snow and Guests

We have added some snow to the forum to make it a little bit more of a christmas feel for everyone. There is also some christmas smiles that you can use like
.41. .eek.

Click "View more smilies" when posting to see the new ones.

Also guests can now post in certain areas of the forum. In order to prevent people abusing this all guests posts have to be pre-moderated for the time being anyway.

Guests are able to post in Site news, feedback and suggestions and all the chat/off topic forums.

Also you may have noticed now on the forum index you can see the last topic in each forum that has been posted in as well as the last user to post in that forum. I have restricted the topic titles to 20 characters (hence the ...) to prevent the forum becoming a bit untidy and deformed looking by being stretched.

Yes although it doesn't stop people spamming links to their site. That is one of the reasons i have been quite hesitant to allowing guests to post as this type of forum attracts mostly people who want to promote something and some of those people just spam to promote.

I will see how it goes and decide what i should do.

Actually, I like this snow a lot better than that which appears on a lot of other forums. Nice looking, yet non-intrusive at the same time!

I added this one as it is different to what other forums have and in my opinion looks better. It also isn't done using images either so it is not just 1 size of snow either unlike others too.

Also if you are not a fan of christmas (which is a bit like me) then it doesn't really get in the way much.

I don't like snow.

In fact, I have it in my word censor on my forum, set to be changed to "sun".

But it is a very cool effect.
