I live in Sheffield in England and like most other areas we got Snow bad today, it started a 7am this morning and didn't stop till gone 9pm tonight, I live on the edge of the pennines and we have had almost 9 inches of snow, we are in the 21st century yet we still can't cope with bad weather, the city ground to a halt to day.

But I ended up in a snow ball fight with a group of youngsters and then I took my 18 month old daught out and built a snowman, she loved it, just hope it clears enough by monday for my birthday.

Anyone else been effected by the snow?

It hasn't really affected me other than being colder since i don't drive. It'll apparently get worse too..

We're suppose to get 5 inches tonight here in Illinois(my local area of course).

I just love it how all these global warming people said that we were going to have a warm winter due to global warming and instead have the worst snow for ages. Where i live there has been snow on the ground for weeks. When it first lot before Christmas almost disappeared this second wave of snow has started.

I totally agree with the statement about a little bit of snow and the country grinds to a halt. It is easier to catch Swine Flu then it is to catch a bus or train. Anybody would think that we have never seen snow before. The media are (as usual) not helping the situation. Spending most of each news programme jumping from place to place in the country saying "We have had snow" "It is snowing here now as you probably can see behind me"... Obviously  What i love is when a reporter says that a village has been completely cut off from everywhere around them yet the reporter and all the camera crew, sound crew and equipment got there fine unfortunately for the moron to tell us that the village has been cut off. If they managed to get in, surely the people in the village could just as easily get out if they bothered to rather then crying about a bit snow. They haven't been cut of because of too much slow, they have been cut off because they are too lazy to actually make any effort because it is a bit too cold or it will take a bit longer then normal. Put a box with £200 in it in the next town and i am sure the locals will soon flood out of the village to get the money. The problem with the country is not the snow, it is peoples attitudes.

Anyway that is my snow rant for the day. I feel better now.
