Anyone who wants to see what it's like, go nuts (NOTE: User-related features and Upgrading are disabled on that admin account). So far, I like it. It'd be nice to have IPB's theme install (or more notably, image upload for theme in IPB is in one compressed xml or xml.gz file) but otherwise, it's about time new web technology is put into forum software.

Thanks for the test board. I was wondering what their ACP looked like.

Thanks for this insight. The ACP seemed a tad confusing at first, but it seems to be more user friendly compared to other software ACPs.

Yea I love it. (My forum is xenforo) Its real stylish also.

I like xenforo from a member aspect. I would not want to run a community on it though.

Same here. I tested this out already and the ACP... well, I think it's safe to say that I didn't understand the ACP so well. Maybe when I have more time I'll dink around with it a bit more, but I was looking at some of the stuff and I'm sitting here thinking, "what?" I suppose it helps more when it's your own live forum... then you have plenty of time to play around with permissions and find out what things do and how they work. I don't know if I'd ever like to have a live community on there though. I'd probably go for something simpler like IPB if I ever switched to paid software.

Thanks for the free demo, Alex. I've tried it out myself, and it's very easy to use, however, I'm not sure I really fancy the style of the ACP. Maybe I'm just not used to it.

I definitely appreciate the opportunity to have a look at the options of that type of forum. I did find it somewhat confusing since there are a lot of options, but they seem laid out well enough that a user could get used to them pretty quickly.

Skinning/Styling one of the forums though looks to be kind of tough though because there seems like there is quite a bit to it... (Just glancing at the options there seems like there is a huge amount of stuff to check and modify for a custom skin. Which is probably great for someone who loves having the options and can really get into the designing an excellent skin, but for others it might be a bit overwhelming.)

Anyway, thank you again for giving us all the opportunity to have a look at it.

Actually making a theme is quite easy, if you goto ACP > Appearance > Style Properties > Color Palette

Very very easy. I made my own theme which you can see here http://adminbb.org/threads/dawn-xenforo-theme.578/

By the way my forum is xenforo.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to give this a test run. I'm almost tempted to share this with a few on vBulletin.com... Not sure how long I'd get away with it though before being banned & maybe having my license revoked . But it is a comical idea.
LOL

It needs to come along a bit more before I'll purchase a copy, but it does show some good possibilities. I need them to develop "blogs" and not just WordPress integration. My community kind of is semi dependent on them.... Still trying to figure out how to modify vBulletin to allow playlist in their blogging system.

Go for it.

I was just aware that that existed today. It will take some time for me to get used to it and figure out if I like it. I'll defiantly be going into that account 🙂
