It's new, and it's a shiny 1. I know this is a positive thing, but why? Something to do with search engines, but I don't fully understand the befits of having a high page rank.

Any suggestions on maintaining it? I suppose as long as the current inlinks stay active, and I keep supplying more to it, the page rank will continue to grow, correct?

Thank for the help guys ~smile~

(And by the way, the domain is BlueHumor.org ~wink~ )

i still don't understand the whole page rank concept, lol.

is a 1 good?

A 10 is the best, but most sites (from what i've seen) never reach the 1 mark. I'll have to wait for Murder or spyka, they know their stuff ~lol~

Anyone else that can help can though ~wink~

where do you go to do this, and do you supply your forum's original url, or can i use my new domain name?

my problem is, as much as i've advertised on hundreds of forums, i never left the url in most sigs, just the link in the banner. i've been starting to add my url now, though. i heard it made a difference

Page rank is great as it shows how well you are in with Google (and other search engines as well), they use it to see on how important a webpage is . Gaining a PageRank is simple enough by optimizing your site SEO style with easy breadcrumbs, good descriptions, anchor texting your keywords to valuable sources, and gaining as many strong links that are in the same genre as possible (on a steady rise, don't just get 500 at once and stop -lol- ). Getting to PageRank one can be a daunting task, but it is easiest to submit to Directories, post in other people's blogs with your URL in your name, advertise on forums such as FP and your incoming link total should increase when Google crawls the other sites and comes into yours, much better if they have a high PR -😉- .

Just keep a steady flow of links to your site and keep activity high with new content etc. and you should maintain it easily and will in time raise it further.

where do you cjeck your PR? i know i'm at the bottom of the barrel, but just concerned.

the one good google search i get, is typing in "find brawl opponents" , or just "brawl opponents" and i've had some members say that's how they found us.

and i'd come up #1 on the list 😀

i check my page ranks on

no, no, i wasn't expecting much. i'm not out to be numero uno. i actually prefer my little community the way it is. everyone stays on daily, and almost 60% of our member base actually plays brawl 😀

i honestly couldn't manage a huge site.

like i said, before, i never understood the concept of pagerank, was just interesting to try it out.

i just had to add a little humor to my "0" 😀

We have a pr of 0 here as well so don't feel too bad -lol-
Unless you add the no follow meta tag you always will too ~lol~

My advertising forum will have the tag, I want a hugeish page rank <.< (Though the homepage won't have it. That way our affiliates still share the glory.)

I'm just excited BlueHumor.org managed to get one, without me really doing anything, I mean the site's offline ~neutral~

We tried have nofollow but you must have seen the trouble that caused. People prefer a useless link from a pr 0 forum -lol-

I just realised I also have a page rank of 1, really happy about that.

This is why the blog needs to contain things like this as people dont fully understand the better ways of helping their forum.

Congrats!!

I have two sites, both have a PR of 4, which is fairly useless because they don't show up in search results for anything anyone would actually look up. -roll-

It will do 🙂 I ill make sure SEO is covered and how it works, plus how we can help each other. Affiliates don;t really work no more but yet people still try to get as many as possible. The blog may take over the forum in PR, however we will be ranking for blog.php and not a directory. The blog will invest juice from the main site, the higher PR site/forum gets, the higher the blog gets out of being there. Instant PR, Alexa, Complete ranks are checked by a simple Firefox plugin called SearchStatus (Look it up in Firefox Addons site).

Qick snippet from Analytics for my blog, after reistalling Wordpress and starting fresh at start of March:

google (organic): 173 - 63.37%

(direct) ((none)): 53 - 19.41%

forumpromotion.net (referral): 11 - 4.03%

As you can see, optimizing for Google and getting some neat content out works wonders.

I'm shooting for a 'negative' pagerank 😀

J/K

would be cool to see a fluid guide on all the aspects of PR'ing up. look forward to seeing it.

My site has a page rank of 1 without me doing anything, not sure how it all works out though. :s
