I'm in need of a new laptop and have a few questions. First off, what brand should I go for? My last laptop was an HP and I've heard they have horrible fail rates (mine failed).

My HP laptop is going on two years. If you don't want to go with HP, look at some Dell's.

Most of the computers and laptops we have are Dells. And we have also Compaq PCs.

So, my recommendation is to check Dell and Compaq for laptop specs and prices.

I read on some tech websites that HP wants to get out of the Consumer computer industry.

I heard Toshiba, and Lenovo are good.

The Macbook seems to be discontinued on Apple.com.

There is only the Macbook Air, and Macbook Pro. I recommend the Macbook Pro since it has a DVD drive, and a bigger hard drive.
