There's an interesting feature which I noticed when I glanced at IPB's development a couple of years ago, it's called Clubs and it reminds me of the social groups in vB3 where it was a weird and quirky feature.

It probably had good intentions behind it, although I don't think it was anywhere near as powerful as it should have been to really be useful. With a fair bit of work, I think it could turn into something pretty useful for spinning up little sub-community, although I don't think it's something for every site.

I have a similar plugin for Gosora, as social groups are one thing I kinda of miss from vB3, although it's largely been side-lined for some more important things.

It's an interesting feature I only really came across several months ago when providing a service on a forum that had this implemented. I liked it. The look of it is nice and the way this admin set it up was great for members. You could create a club or suggest one. It's weird that I needed to join each individual club in order to post, since the structure is like a forum and I'm not used to that, but change is good.

Clubs been around for almost an year and it was an idea got implement and it's the site owners or there members choice if they won't to use it. Over the months and time they created allot of things based of clubs and some use it for gaming, cars and or blogs. But more here: https://invisioncommunity.com/features/clubs/

Beforehand there was an paid third party plugin named group collaboration, more advance and allot more that's built into the plugin, once clubs came out and plugins where made for the clubs it was an cheaper option then to use group collaboration ($75 up front then $55 per year). Also it's no dead since clubs are being used more lol

It's cool to see mini sites on an website lol and those clubs own by who created them and has options to have forums, galleys, pages, files and members ranks based on those clubs.
