Imagine that I own a company and I wanted my clients to have updated information about a lot of things happening in my company. I also want to market my company. Keeping both of this in mind, I decide to end out posts through Facebook and Twitter. What do you think is the right frequency of these posts will be?

1 every 3 hours? 1 every hour during working hours? Or anything else?

tweeting is just more then that, getting involved with people and getting tweets back from other people. I say an good one big tweet update on the hour then random small tweets here and there

1 Big Tweet once an hour because it keeps a lot of users updated with plenty of information. Also it's a schedule so that the users will know what time to check the tweet and posts. Having a lot of tweets/posts stuff in 10 or 15 minutes could annoy a lot of people, so having 1 big tweet per hour will be a lot easier.

I would suggest Twitter updates in very hour is the best you can have to get more attention to your new updates. Getting your tweets retweeted will help gain more audience for your website.

You actually want to update social media most often outside of work hours, typically 5-8 or so in the morning, and then again during the evening when people get out of work until 8 or 9 PM. That seems to be when most people are checking out various social media platforms, so it is more likely to reach more people during those times. That doesn't mean you shouldn't share content during the workday, but things you do (especially stuff like articles) you may want to share again during one of those other periods.

Facebook posts should only be two a day. I figure, even with decent stuff, more than two would be annoying.

Even for tweets I'd say one tweet every hour is too much... I know that would annoy me if I was following a business page like that. Same for Facebook. I'd prefer quality over quantity. I also agree with Empire, engagement and genuine interaction with others helps a lot to show you care and are interested in what your company does/is selling/etc. You'd reach more people that way.

You should tweet around 10 to 20 times per day. 80% content, 20% ads. Rotate your hashtags in every tweet and include 3-4 of them in every post. Furthermore you should always use images or videos. People interact far more often with images and videos than text.

Regarding FB: Post in related groups and promote your own hashtags via facebook commenting.

I agree with this frequency. Excessive updates are not only annoying but may cause the prospect client to unfollow you. Perhaps 1 update daily is sufficient and 2 is the maximum. With Twitter, twice a day would also be fine. By the way, the posts and tweets should be creative and better if amusing. That will capture the interest of the readers.

I would personally focus on Twitter depending how many followers you have because it's more interactive from my own opinion.

Facebook takes practice if your doing promotional advertisement but you could also take the free route and join open groups that allow to advertise on.

I did have a guide somewhere on my computer on how to get started with Facebook Ads.

Note: I will let you know if I find it.

I completely agree with you on facebook. But what about Twitter and Instagram? I think on twitter, 4-5 Tweets are more than enough or should we post every hour. Please share your views.
