Social Networks

New social networks are being launched every day, some which are popular and some which aren't. I recently launched Samious however it failed after a day because my host decided to somewhat suspend me and still awaiting a reply from them about it. Which got me thinking what I could do with my website.

Social Networks won't go very far unless they are big like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace etc. It is hard to make unique social networks after having the popular social networks, even last.fm took the industry for a music social network. Would it be worth continuing my social network or changing it to something else? I still want it to be on the social side but change it to a forum etc?

Also, the main topic is: do you believe there is room for any more social networks in the industry?

There is only room for improvement. So if you use existing features and improve each or most and combine them all into a social network site your off to a good start!

Honestly speaking I don't think more social network websites will go famous at the moment, given how popular the current ones are. Although it looks like the hype of Facebook and Twitter might be decreasing lately, it feels as if people have kind of grown tired with it, and prefer to just use BlackBerry or the current social networks website to keep in touch with friends.

I personally use neither, and not planning to use any even more, unless in very important and serious situation. XD

Obviously there's room! Look at pintrest! That came out of nowhere, sold to facebook for a billion I believe. As long as it's the right kind of network and people like it, it will really fly 🙂

I was thinking this too. Coming out with a somewhat unique idea, that is different from out social network layouts, it can prove to be a hit.
